Your data under the copper dome

This copy dated 22 September 2026.

Who answers for data at the observatory

The controller for personal data processed through fellsideobservatory.com is the operator of fellsideobservatory.com. Contact: [email protected].

What Ermyn’s observing book records

Data in the bookWhy Ermyn needs itHow long it stays written
NicknameThe nickname Ermyn writes at the top of your pageKept for as long as the account exists
Email addressFinding your page in the book when you log in againKept for as long as the account exists
Password hashChecking your log-in while the dome never keeps the password itselfKept for as long as the account exists
Sign-up dateAnswering support and dealing with misuse at the domeKept for as long as the account exists

Nothing else goes into the observing book. The dome never asks for your real name, address, date of birth, phone number or payment details, because nothing on the fell is sold. Your password is written down only as a one-way hash. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (the account you signed up for). Deleting your account tears your page out of the book at once, with the button on your account page.

Notes kept in your browser, not at the dome

Data in the bookWhat the browser uses it forHow long it stays written
Coins, level, missions and settings for each world on the fellResuming the watch where you stoppedKept until browser data is cleared
Age confirmationSparing you the age question at every stileKept until browser data is cleared
Cookie choiceKeeping your cookie answer from the stileKept until browser data is cleared

All of it stays in your own browser, down in the valley, and none of it climbs up to us.

Google tags stay dark until you agree

With “Accept all” picked, Google Analytics and Google Ads tags record visits to the observatory and whether our adverts bring people to the reels, a first spin on the frosted ling, for example. Google is sent your IP address, device information and these events. With “Essential only” picked, those tags run in consent mode with no cookies and no advertising identifiers. Lawful basis: consent.

Request logs from the dome’s host

For security, the company that hosts the dome keeps routine request logs for a brief spell. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.

Lines your data never crosses

  • No payment data, ever, because the observatory sells nothing.
  • Marketing email from the dome only if you ask for it.
  • Nobody can buy or rent your data from us, for any sum.
  • Nothing is passed to gambling operators, and no gambling affiliate link hangs anywhere on the fell.

Your rights, clear as a frosty sky

You have the right to access, correct or erase your data, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw consent whenever you choose. The delete button on your account page tears your page from the book immediately; clearing this site’s data in your browser deals with the remainder. You may complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

Free social casino play beneath the dome. Real-money gambling has no place here.

Only adults of 18 and over may play at Fellside Observatory. All spins use virtual coins of no monetary value, which cannot be bought, sold, withdrawn or exchanged. You will find no coin shop and no payment page from the stile to the dome, no prize of real-world value is ever offered, and success here does not imply future success at real-money gambling.
